  • The Dark Tower (Wizard and Glass) pilot is finally entering production after being in development hell for about a decade.

Today's Development Hell list catches us up to the present with stuff from the last 3 months.
  • Orphan Black spin-off (AMC) - "not be a spinoff or reboot of the original series, but rather a completely new story set in the same world."
  • Asunda (HBO) - Based on Sebastian A. Jones' fantasy series. "Set in the culturally rich but war-torn world of Asunda, where an orphan girl is born of two nations and raised in a small desert town. Hunted by all, she will search for her ancestors and the courage to bind them against an ancient enemy."
  • Hawkeye (Disney+) - Based on the Marvel character from the movies. "An adventure series in which Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, will pass the torch to Kate Bishop."
  • The Eyes of the Dragon (Hulu) - Based on the Stephen King novel. "King Roland's manipulative magician, Flagg, sees his power threatened when Queen Sasha gives birth to Peter, an heir to the throne. When the queen is pregnant with a second son, Flagg gets her midwife to mortally wound the queen and so begins his plot to dispose of the future king. Peter brings wine to his father's bedchambers each night and Flagg poisons the potion and frames the son. The magician has meanwhile also been manipulating the younger son, Thomas, showing him secret passages where the boy can spy on his father. Thomas sees the murder of the king and the frameup of his brother but is torn when Peter is found guilty and locked in an enormous tower. After all with Peter gone, he's king at age 12. He allows Flagg widespread power that corrupts the kingdom. Meanwhile, Peter must attempt an escape to thwart Flagg and win back the throne."
  • Lobo (Syfy) - Krypton spin-off. "A foul-mouthed, dangerous, irascible, intergalactic bounty hunter."
  • Untitled Star Trek (Nickelodeon) - Animated. "A group of lawless teens discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation."
  • The Walking Dead tv movies () - Trilogy of films were announced last November, update expected "soon". "Rick Grimes is mortally wounded and last seen being flown away by helicopter to an unknown destination. The first film will explore the story of where Rick is taken and what he faces in a new corner of the zombie apocalypse."

Coming soon: My list of list of essential original Doctor Who episodes for those who are interested in watching some of the old shows but just can't bring themselves to watch all 25 seasons.
